He is also related to Harry Redknapps, Portmouth's coach. Lamps is a regular at Chelsea although Chelsea boasts a wealth of central midfielder like Ballack, Essien, Makelele and John Obi. He ended the 2005/2006 season with 16 goals for Chelsea. Unfortunately he played below his potential during World Cup 2006. In the first game under the new England coach, Gerrard played on the right side, Owen Hargraves was the defensive midfielder and Lampard was allowed to roam freely as an attacking midfielder.
